Blogger and Wordpress are two largest blogging platforms in internet world. Before you start blogging, you need to register in anyone of these two Blogging networks. I recommend you to start with Blogger. When you are new to blogging, Blogger will be best for you. As it is very simple and easy to access and has a lot of free features, On the other hand, starting off with wordpress can cause a headache, if you are an absolute newbie and do not know, what you are doing.
5 Advantages of starting of with blogger
1. With the free version of Blogger, you can edit the styles, layouts or even use third-party themes.
2. Blogger is also better in terms of being able to keep track of statistics regarding traffic. You can install a third party program that will allow you to keep a close eye on the incoming visitors.
3. Another think what I like about Blogger is that there are many free templates that could be found in the Internet. My template for this blog is just downloaded for free.
4. The best bit is that you could place advertisements/Earning ads etc on your blog without even applying for paid hosting in the Blogger blog platform.
5 disadvantages of starting with wordpress
1. With WordPress, you'd have to upgrade to a paid membership to get that level of customization.
2. WordPress doesn't allow such third party programs that will allow you to keep a close eye on the incoming visitors and only has a few generic built in charts.
3. Free wordpress doesn’t allow the third party themes/templates.
4. While in Wordpress you cannot place advertisements/earning ads and you need to move to a paid hosting to do that.
Beside all these advantages i recommend you to start with Blogger. And after you blog got famous and you got money to spend on you Blog you can export your blog to wordpress and buy your own domain and hosting because paid hosting in wordpress gives you lot more benefits and make you blog looks professional anyhow I will discuss it in my upcoming Posts!

I accept yours views regarding the point that blogger is better than wordpress. The one most important I feel is regarding third party codes and embedding of videos and javascripts. It would be senseless not to use them because the basic aim of a blog is to provide relaxation and without these things it is not possible.
